Title: The Calling: Beginnings OOC Thread (Part 1)
Post by: Kitharsis on November 01, 2013, 09:01:52 AM
Getting started.  Everyone will be pulled in very soon.

The three of you mentioned in the post can reply, if that isn't clear enough.  Radobe and Sepher please hang tight!

And now it begins.

I hope you didn't mind me fleshing out the vikings of the north a bit more with some culture and language. I'm just using Norse terms as best I can with English structure. I just wanted to create a more solid background for Bjorn and actually have some meaning behind his nature, I.E. a gift from Óšinn, or other such things.

Rather poor judgement on Bjorn's part :P

Feel free to post your reaction.  I just wanted to move things along to get Daccio introduced.

He doesn't want to accidentally kill them all, so he kinda needed to in order to keep himself focused on the enemy.

I'll be right with ya' guys!  Thought I'd post here since Shadow, Kith, AND Faidth would see this. :P

Pardon my delay, but I've been celebrating Halloween... excessively.  I should be fully recovered on the morrow. :)

I am sure it's obvious, but Daccio is hiding her nature at the moment. :p she doesnt know a lot about what she is honestly. She knows enough to survive, but not to thrive... YET

Battle!

Enemy:  A pack of fiery wolves.

The explosion of the ash pile made things hectic real quick.  Aside from the wolves counted attacking you head on, there are others still running around.

No god mods please.

Enjoy!

None of that was meant to imply any god-modding, in case I worded it too forcefully. He doesn't frankly care what the outcome of his attacks are at this point, he's just going to keep swinging.

Just to clarify, Jin can typically suppress his aura to some extent to hide his eye color, but I'll leave it up to you whether or not it actually becomes more effective in this case. :P

Trying to calm cattle, conceal powers for the sake of others, and whoop a giant fire wolf's ass... it's weird playing such a good guy after so many morally questionable characters.

Awesome.  I'm really enjoying this.

There are still a whole bunch of fiery wolves running around, and most of you have a handful of them bearing down on you.

This is a god mod post!  Just don't go crazy and kill twenty wolves in one shot.

As usual, I've been scarce over the weekend.

Feel free to finish up your attacks on the wolves if you want to.

Either way, post your reactions to the battle and all.  Everyone is milling about and preparing to travel back to the Keep.

Sorry bout that shadow, Daccio would have approached you, as you were part of the party before. Updated my post to reflect that if you want to respond.

Have a release going on at work this weekend.  So this week has been pretty busy.  Sorry!

Finish up any actions you want to perform.  We will be leaving for town on Monday.

Just for clarity's sake, Afanen intends on destroying the vial after it has been used for this. It would be far too dangerous to bring into town.

Ok so, I'm beginning to realize how challenging it can be to give everyone something to do with each post :o

I'm working on the post for the trek to Keep Yond.  I know I said Monday but dang, I've been busier than I thought I would.  And I don't want to just post stuff without putting some time into it.

Thanks for bearing with me ;D

Ok, so I've been pretty scarce the past few weeks, and for that I'm sorry.

I proposed to my now fiance last Thursday!

I was running around like a lunatic for the past few weeks getting everything set up.  I'm still coming down from the post proposal bliss cloud, so please bear with me a little longer.  I know where this story is going, I just need to wrestle my brain down long enough to put it into words.

Looking forward to seeing this story move forward as well :)

Our online forum roleplay > you spending the rest of your life with someone you love.  Get them priorities straight. :P

I'm sorry I have been absent.  I would list all of the reasons why I haven't been around, but instead I'll use this handy flowchart to explain:

I have a large amount of things to catch up on around here.  I must admit I got a bit burnt out there for a while.  Then I sort of lost the habit of checking here every day.  After I realized this I shuddered when I thought about how much I missed.  Of course I was anxious that I would never catch up and that everyone would be angry, so I just quietly pushed it all aside while feeling incredibly guilty and embarrassed.

Aaaaand here we are.  I am going to catch up on the other battles before continuing this one.  This will prove to be the longest trip to town ever.

I like how eloquently that sums up every time I've ever run out of posting fuel.

But, with the marriage announcement, it's completely understandable.  With stuff like that going on, it's hard to prioritize forum roleplay in our heads. :P

At the end of the die you are still here and everything is running better than ever (ever = the duration I have been in the forums)!

Ok, so you have a few choices as to where you're headed next.

1. You can head to The Armpit with Rand.
2. You can check out The Clover's remains.
3. You can explore the town surrounding Keep Yond.

Eventually you'll need to make your way to The Armpit for the night.  But you don't have to go straight there.

For reference, Bjorn's line:

"Bįl, syna me yšvarr fróšleikr. Valdr, syna me yšvarr gata. lįta me vita of yšvarr augas."

translates to

"Fire, show me your knowledge. Wolf, show me your path. Let me see through your eyes."

To anyone interested, Bjorn's curse translates as "Odin's hairy backside!"

Just thought you might like a laugh.

Should I respond to my part of the post, or will there be more that's relevant when the post is finished? :)
