Danyael Iixandros (Epic Battle)
« on: April 13, 2010, 01:45:19 AM »
Danyael Ilixandros
Battle: Epic
Age: “I stopped counting.”
Species: Nephilim
Height: 6'4"
Weight: 210 lbs
Eyes: Platinum over jet black.
Skin: Caramel
Allegiance: “They know who they are...”
Occupation: Current High Sovereign of the Imperium Sanctus
Lord Protector of the Guardian Orden

“You’ve heard of it, haven’t you - the Legend of Siovale? When I was young, my father told it to me. Long ago in ancient times, Siovale, a heavenly prince, fell to the living world where he made carnal union with women and demons alike - siring a king-son who could walk between the worlds. With his deed done, he vanished, leaving his child to rule the worlds un-chained. I never believed it; thought it was just a child’s fairytale. But the legend wasn’t a legend at all. Siovale existed. How do I know? Well... I met the son of Siovale... as old and as powerful as the father that birthed him. Though the divine blood of the angels coursed through his veins, he fought with a ferocity even the devil himself would admire. It seemed as though he derived some twisted pleasure from this... noble battling... but in the end... he fell like all the rest...” – Septia, Bard of the Old Ways.

Appearance

Though clearly a distant descendant of the human race, his most distinguishing feature is that he resembles the Gate Lord Dyriel in every way, from his height and athletically slender body frame, to his catlike, volcanic, ever changing eyes. He is tall, flawlessly sculpted and otherworldly handsome with an attractive nose and thin lips - a rarity of a face that few have seen but one that none shall forget. As a hybrid, he is marked by his unearthly beauty, mesmerizing to behold. Although it is rarely shown, across the entirety of his skin is a full body tattoo of the Imperium’s depiction of the Tree of Life, with every branch extending across his limbs and digits, all save for his face. Across his chest is a detailed stylization of ancient spells and charms, written in a language of unknown origin - possibly by his own creation. It is easy to note that on his back, blended with the rest of the hypnotic tapestry, are two red angelic wing portraits swathed around the upper branches of the tree.

Presently, he no longer possesses the ever-changing eyes of the nephilim, as the long time he spent in the warp has rendered him physically blind. Instead, his eyes have taken on a very different tone and shape - pitch black cat-like eyes centered by misty grey cruciform pupils. From time to time he will cover his eyes with a long white sash to avoid too many onlookers. His sight, while physically absent, has been replaced by the ability to see the very energies of the universe around him. Thus, he can “see clearer” as a blind man than he could as a sighted one.

Danyael’s wardrobe varies from place to place, though is always tailored with fighting in mind, able to summon new garments depending on environment and circumstances. More oft than not, he wears a veritable multitude of imperial garbs, all of which considered (by any generation) to be stylish in appeal but perfectly functional in any situation. His commonplace attire consists of a long, form fitting black and red cassock. The jacket is split at both the waist and center to provide faster and more efficient movement. This also provides an elaborate swishing motion in conjunction with his cloak. At the waist and neck are two red/golden cuffed belts. A thick, long white shawl hangs low from his broad shoulders, written in bronze in an old prayer. His boots, much like the rest of his attire, are always different, though presently they are a pair of lightly armored, steel tip desert boots, reaching up to his knees, complete with platinum armored foreleg and knee pauldrons. A large cloak, signifying his membership with the Guardian Order, veils his clothing, hemmed together at the center by the crest of power - a small medallion in the likeness of a silver, serpentine dragon wrapping itself around a crimson red ruby. Rarely is he seen with his hood down, almost always seen wearing over his head, veiling his face in dimness - which also acts as a means of protecting his eyes; seeing too much of the true world around him can be tiresome and the dimness of his hood offers him a soft reprieve.

He has no visible weapons to speak for, save for an ornate ‘type 98' Shin Guntō’ named Yamato. It is the only weapon he possesses that must remain in the physical realm as a vow to an unspoken code with its creator. The sword’s jet black scabbard, dual grey tassels and bright silver blade symbolically compliment the complex relationship between light and dark.

Personality
As personalities go, his respect and trust for his fellow companions has gone vastly unspoken, though to him he would trust no one else but the very people he’d fought beside for so long. As the leader of his nation, he is by far the most liberal minded of his lineage since the imperium’s founding, believing that a more laid back approach to ruling holds a greater sway for the support of his people. Liberal, however, is no substitute for laziness, either; his many choices in governing the imperium have not only expanded its influence in the omniverse, but brought every realm under imperial rule to heightened prosperity. he is incredibly repugnant of blind loyalty, finding it distasteful for someone to follow someone else without having a reason to do so. To him, for one to have no purpose proves only that they are wasting what time the universe has granted them. Simply put, “If you’ve got no reason to be here, then why are you here?”  He is more reserved than he was prior to his return, holding deeply seeded feelings for his one true love and wife, Sera; daughter of Kawanua.

Leadership is a quality he prefers to share with others, rather than take on all to himself. There has never been a time where he has made a decision on his own, particularly when the voices of others matter more to him. It is due to this form of counsel that has lead to the form of the Renaissance - a collective of powerful ruling bodies over various universes - which has stood the test of time against the darkness that seeks to bathe all in perpetual ruin.

He is far less outspoken than before, preferring actions over mere wordplay, though will speak when he has something to say - and is more than able to hold a conversation, albeit with a voice of calm in his tone. He fights alongside his companions with no grudges held against them any longer, though he also fights alongside them with a certain hollowness about his personality. Some could say that his new personality is known to bask in the pleasures of silence. Perhaps in his journeys away from the companions, he has learned the facets of quiet humility. He appears older in a more symbolic sense of the word. And what was more, was that somehow he had learned to completely silence Dyriel’s presence and now has full control over both his own and the Gate Lord’s powers. This, in turn keeps his thoughts more to himself, as there are times where he is afraid that a voice that isn’t his will use his mouth to say things he wouldn’t want to say.

Equipment

Everworld Cloak
Danyael still wears his Everworld cloak, signifying his status as an esteemed member in the Guardian Order. It’s color has taken on a different hue, from its deep red to a platinum white tone. The cloak compliments his height, though it reaches beneath his ankles. If it were of normal fabrics, it would drag across the ground, though due to his metaphysical origin, its edges easily hover and glide above the ground, having never touched earth since its weaving. The cloak functions as more than contemporary garbs, as it also acts as a portal to a hidden cache of spiritual weaponry and tools. It is seen to be resistant to most magic and contemporary weaponry as well.

Weapons

Tessen

Once known as the blade Grandiel, its name is translated as “Formless”, it is the sentient [though silent] trademark seven barbed ceremonial Nodachi belonging to the Ilixandros family. It is very long with a red sheath and hilt wrap. It has no cross-guard and the sheath typically has a tattered cloth spiraling down its form. In the past, it was used to entrap all the power of evil spiritual ceremonies, thus granting it the ability to enable those sensitive to the cosmic leylines to use their gifts more freely, enhancing them twelve fold. However, Tessen is vastly influenced by the nature of the wielder, its powers can vary from making the weather change to cause the wielder to go on killing sprees.

Tessen actually has a spirit of its own and can manifest itself to those who have the power of perceiving spiritual energies. It is generally blamed for Danyael’s erratic behavior during the earlier campaigns of the companions, until time in the warp allowed him the opportunity to master it. However, although the sword is considered evil by many, its spirit is not depicted as having malice - Tessen only makes awakening one’s own power take less effort.

Tessen’s gift, simply defined, is the neutralization of power. This allows the sword to consume large quantities of ki. However, this causes an adverse affect on several additional abilities. Tessen can only be activated by those with special powers and has even awakened powers in some cases. When wielded by someone without special powers, it is nothing more than an extremely long sword. If the wielder establishes a good enough relationship with the sword, it can even be activated while the user is not in possession of it.

When activated, the blade allows the user to control and regulate their power better. The sword gains a visible aura around it and emits a piercing sound usually heard as a deep ringing phenomenon. While activated, the blade also becomes encircled with energy rings compiled with numerous symbols from the many generations who’ve wielded it. Strange symbols also appear across the blade as well. While awakened, the sword becomes more powerful, even if it can’t cut the opponent, they can be violently seared by the energy it emits.

It is able to cut through nearly anything effortlessly, possessing untold magic collected throughout the dynasty’s rule. Like its title, Tessen possesses the ability to change its form, from sword to lance at will. When in it’s secondary form, its central blade and seven barbs stretch to twelve times their original length. The spirit of Tessen is seen as a floating, otherworldly pale young woman, whose long white hair reaches beneath her feet. Her hair, much like her, floats freely when placid and aggressively when enraged. It would be interesting to note that the spirit of Tessen has no spoken name, known only by Danyael, and in addition she feels she has no reason to speak - having not done so for over two thousand generations.

Yamato

A mystical ‘Shin Guntō’ obtained between the time of his apprenticeship and becoming high sovereign of the imperium. The sword, when sheathed is kept in a black lacquered sheathe, replete with engravings of mantras from long dead languages. The sword itself is wrapped in a silk burgundy sash, itself a spiritual tool to keep the sword’s power at bay. It’s unique handle is comprised of hardened angels’ feathers, wrapped over a cylindrical black stone. Its blade is that of pure reflective silver, its surface so pristine it seems to glow with its own inner light. Despite its resplendent craftsmanship, the nature of Yamato is anything but chivalrous. Forged in the deepest pits of the realm of Sacnoth by an exiled Saint, the sword was built with demon slaying in mind, its super-thin blade the product of an old meteorite that had been folded over again and again until achieving its present form. In the lower realms of the imperium, demons and monsters come from a gateway opened by the realm’s many moons, explaining the ‘moonlight flow’ of the sword’s illumination. As a biproduct of the weapon’s sorcery, it is capable of more than just slaying demons - it can capture them as well; imprisoning over one thousand demons since its creation. It was given to Danyael as an initiation rite on his path to sovereignty, each wielder before him forswearing an oath unique to their own code of honor. Danyael’s oath was that in order to keep the blade from absorbing any more power from the spirit world, he would keep it by his side, in the living world until the time comes for him to pass the sword to its next successor.

Somnus
A special weapon that takes the form of a collective of a floating, ghostly arsenal including swords, spears, lances, axes, scythes, and - on occasion - firearms. Acquired during his time lost in the Warp, through the power of Somnus, Danyael is able to conjure the weapons into being through tapping into the ‘wellspring’ and wield them by hand or by psychokinesis. When tapping into the wellspring, the Somnus forms a wall of glimmering transparent weapons which can act as a shield from any location or distance, defending him or whosoever he chooses to protect. The Somnus also allows him the ability to teleport, seemingly to the locations of his weapons, allowing him to throw them at great distance and reappear where they land only seconds later with the weapon in hand. While Danyael’s incredible speed could more than make up for teleportation, his newly acquired powers learned during his lost days have greatly added more flexibility to the affect. Depending on which weapon he has in hand, his eyes will change to a different color, only returning to their original tones when the weapon in hand is released. While wielding Somnus through psychokinesis, his eyes remain their standard shades. In conjunction with the use of any chosen weapon, the Somnus remains active while summoned, able to defend him easily while he attacks what opponents he’s faced against. The most commonly used weapons of the Somnus that Danyael wields are:

Orchid Howl~ a pointed edge long sword, imbued with powerful magic. Possessive of a thin, arrowhead design, there are hollow points creasing up the center of the sword to allow for faster and more powerful swings and spins. Having, much like the Yamato, trapped malicious souls, its wielder controls their malevolent powers through reinforced will alone, via a wrapped red cloth seal that adorns the blade from tip to handle. While using this weapon, Danyael’s eyes are a shade of deep green.

Lotus Malevolence~ A sword designed in the likeness of a long, wavy feather, wreathed in magenta flames. It saps the life of its wielder, bringing them to the very brink of death, but in doing so grants its otherworldly powers of immense strength. If the sharp blade doesn’t slay a foe, its lethal magenta flame will emerge from the sword and finish them off. It has been known to slice through any fabric, including the fabric of the soul itself.  While using this weapon, Danyael’s eyes are a shade of dark magenta.

Blade of Voracity~ a sword the same length as the Tessen, though its ever ravenous nature saps the ethereal strength of the wielder. However, it continues to grow stronger with every swing. In the hands of one such as Danyael, whose source of power is the universe itself, it reacts in an adverse manner, eating away at his spirit until he is a hollow shell. It is the only weapon he has used when absolutely necessary. And even then it would be sparingly at best. When using this weapon, Danyael’s eyes are a shade of bright red.

Fan Blade~ A unique, eight blades sword designed in the likeness of a fan. Each of the blades of this mighty weapon contains the power of the wind. When one of the razor-sharp blades strikes an enemy, they are literally “blown away”. When using this weapon, Danyael’s eyes are a shade of bright blue.

The Culling Blade ~ This massive, curved sword has taken the lives of over two thousand greater fiends. Its design consists of three identically curved swords forged into a single blade. When using this weapon, Danyael’s eyes are a shade of swirling burgundy.

Black Heron ~ Forged two hundred generations before Danyael’s birth from the iron of a meteorite that fell to a small world in one of the deepest corners of the imperium, these granite colored, twin swords are forged with handles of a phallic appeal. Their black hardened blades casts an eerie glow. When using this weapon, Danyael’s eyes are a shade of spinning grey.

Twin Stars ~ One sword harnesses the power of the moon, which is designed in the likeness of a waning crescent, while the other is infused with the power of the sun, forged in the likeness of a long, burning flame. When using this weapon, Danyael’s left eye is a brilliant blue, while his right eye is a burning orange tone.

Skylarks ~ Twin crescent moon shaped katars that literally look like ‘skylarks’ in full motion when they are wielded. When they are thrown, they cut down enemies over wide ranges, instantly finding their way back to the hands of their master. When using this weapon, Danyael’s eyes are a shade of silver and black.

Ryuuden Staff ~ An exiled minister forbidden by the sacred edicts from touching blades furnished this weapon with holy flames. Its golden wrapped ends are completely cloaked in flames that do not burn at the touch, but repels all of the unholy caught in its wake. When using this weapon, Danyael’s eyes are a shade of rumbling brown.

Three Winds Staff ~ This triple bladed staff captures and stores the energy of its prey. Depicted in the likeness of a “Y” it is crowned with long, dual bladed prongs at each of its three ends. When using this weapon, Danyael’s eyes are closed, his tone unrevealed, though they glow dazzlingly behind their closed lids.

Raijin ~ A narrow sword almost as long as Tessen with a blade notched to hold in the power of a thunder spirit. Though it is fragile and slightly unwieldy, it can muster great power when the situations are right. When using this weapon, Danyael’s eyes are the brightest white and blue.

Fang ~ An indigo great sword used by a half-god named Fang. Too heavy for many, it doesn’t display it’s true power unless swung with all one’s might. When using this weapon, Danyael’s eyes are a bluish black tone that switches between the two.

Niitei ~ A two bladed halberd made of forged onatebrium and used by one of Danyael’s oldest descendants. Making use of centrifugal force, it can cut down enemies in a wide range, all the more when used in tandem with elemental manipulation. When using this weapon, Danyael’s eyes are a shade of forest green.

Rune Falchions ~ a pair of handle-less scimitars, one blue and one burgundy. Words of power are engraved in their blades. Common weapons of ancient times. Though they possess no preternatural ability, they are imbued with the spiritual energy of all other wielders before them. When using these weapons, Danyael eyes take on the respective tones of the weapons themselves.

Serenitatis ~ a holy keepsake great sword whose brilliant blue blade is formed of moonlight made physical. Because it was forged outside of the imperium, the power of the moon that the sword represents is that of defensive, holy energy. If swung with force, the sword can shoot forth blades of pure light. When using this weapon, Danyael’s eyes, much like the Three Winds Staff, are closed, though they glow beneath the lids with an eerie blue and white light accompanied by a dim green.

Maleganta ~ A six bladed crimson great scythe. It is styled much in the neo-gothic likeness of the human vertebrae, stretching beyond Danyael’s full height. Due to the arrangement of the blades, each segmented beneath the other, crowned by the greater blade at its peak, it can resonate with sound, causing great, sonorous shockwaves. Due to Danyael’s new energy based abilities, coupled with his newly developed speed, this makes for a potentially deadly weapon. It’s curvy design melds well with the hands, thus making Danyael’s skill in its use look like pure artistry in motion. Its name ‘Maleganta’ is an anagram of two words personifying its nature: Malevolent and Antagonistic - thus it is referred to as the Maleganta.  When using this weapon, Danyael’s eyes are a shade of blood red.

Orichalcum ~ A peculiarly long lance, its name designated from the long extinct alloy used to forge it; said to be so potent in its vibrations that it could channel spiritual energies on a variety of different levels. One of Danyael’s most wielded favorites, it functions similar to Tessen in that it aids in awakening latent abilities. The spiritual equal to the ‘Maleganta’, the Orichalcum’s trademark blade is similar in design with the Hofburg Spear, tracing back to possible Earth-born origins, though the Orichalcum’s blade stretches another twelve inches in length. A sheet of bronze folds around the central coordination of the blade, encasing in it two splinters from one of the long hidden Holy Trees of the Lost Land. In an added affect, the lance’s function leans more toward the conjuration of the divine energies within the elements, culling with it the hosts of elemental spirits to accompany every attack and defense that the weapon has to offer. Forged with speed in mind, in spite of its length, the Orichalcum’s eight foot pole has been hollowed out in order to provide for more fluidity in its movements. As an intended side effect, due to the semi-divine nature of the lance, it is more than just a weapon, but also a tool for healing, further adding to Danyael’s already rapid healing factor. When using this weapon, Danyael’s eyes are much like his original color, though his platinum irises glow far brighter than before.

Powers

The Wellspring
Otherwise referred to as “The Source”. The evolution of the omnigen gift, its origins date back to a time where all life was energy, having no need nor concept of the ‘physical’. Referred to by Danyael as “The Wellspring”, it acts as the communion between Celestial Hosts, Celestial Bodies, the Physical, the Spiritual, the Divine and even the Chaotic. While not the origin of all creation, it acts more as an intermediary connector to many paths within the omniverse. Thus Danyael is able to temporarily tap into its vast power, able to wield energy in its rawest form to do with whatever the situation demands. The Source is able to bridge connections between realms while keeping its user balanced amid the chaos. Thus, Danyael can, to an extent, tap into the might of the worlds around him. Due to Danyael’s time spent in the warp, he bore witness to all time (in all of its infinite limbs) occurring all at once. Past, present and future and everything in it blew by him like an ocean in a hurricane. It was thus when he discovered that the Source was the connection to all life. And the Source, sentient as it was, taught him how to aim his senses, able to choose which path would lead him out of obscurity. The reason behind his capable control with the Wellspring is because Danyael’s power is in symbiosis with his spirit: he and it are, to an affect, one and the same entity.

True Sight
Amidst his repertoire of sharpened abilities, there is one additional physical trait he did not intend to develop. After spending such vast amounts of time lost in the warp, Danyael has become physically blind. His eyes are brimstone black as their core shade, by misty, cruciform, platinum pupils. While physically unable to see, adversely he is able to perceive everything around him in their ‘truest form’ - his eyes can see only energy, be they positive, negative or neutral, in every thread and seem of reality; all at the same time - thus is he able to perceive the beauty and horrors of the universes around him with far greater clarity than he could before he lost his physical sight. Because he can perceive energy differently than others, he can wield it differently, able to transmute any energy he perceives into corporeal or tangible form. This ability has also allowed him to open greater links into the planets he resides on, quickening his speed, senses and capability in wielding magic or energy based techniques.

Echoes
Another new featured ability amidst his repertoire of powers is his unique gift of producing multiple “echoes” of himself which function both independently of each other and actively connected at the same time, thus acting as a hive mind. Though each clone is essentially Danyael, the great power he possesses is divided amongst them, thus significantly decreasing his range of strengths to his current status at the time of his newest reunion with the companions. This would explain how he can be ruler of the Imperium Sanctus and brother in arms to the companions at the same time. There are an as yet undetermined collective of Echoes ruling over the core realms of the Imperium.

Supernatural Speed
Danyael, after becoming a sovereign of the Imperium, was at first able to reach the speed of sound, which is around 770 mph, but extended exposure to the warp during his exile has made it possible for him to run at, with focus, supersonic speeds no higher than Mach 4. Using his speed, Danyael is capable in achieving various effects such as outrunning gravity for short periods, running across water or even up walls. By running in circles, he could create whirlind vortexes of great intensity and even, when in conjunction with the use of magic, can create phantasm afterimages that possess mass. Despite his geokinetic abilities afford him the power to do this, the fact that his speed alone can accomplish this is more than worthy of merit.

Dyriel

Once known as the Insane Gate Lord, ruling over the Gate of Chaos, he has now been completely silenced after Danyael’s return from his lost days in the Warp. Once the leader of the pantheon of multidimensional superbeings known as the Gate Lords, Dyriel was more a hindrance than he was a help to Danyael during the sovereign’s younger years. He would do whatever he could to tempt Danyael into joining his cause, and effectively joining souls with him in order to wage a far spanning war against the omniverse. He has a far reaching repertoire of abilities and an even father reaching knowledge of the cosmos, having existed for as long as time could record.

He played a very prominent role in tormenting Danyael at the most inconvenient times, though never hesitated to lend Danyael a taste of his power when it was called on, thus still solidifying the unspoken contract between the two. He was more characterized by his four titan wings, somewhat resembling the likeness of eagle and peacock feathers, stretching for what may seem to be an infinity. His clerical robes were significant in symbolizing his fall from grace, and his sadistic nature was enjoyed with much glee. The other Gate Lords, rulers of their own respective Gates, were not as outspoken as their High Lord, though they followed his every command, their own will connected to his.

When Danyael, once known an apprentice of the Order, finally claimed the mantle of his true form, he gained a deeper resemblance to Dyriel’s appearance, as well as came closer in wielding similar powers. But the closer the companions came to the Eye of Terror, the quieter Dyriel became. When Danyael, in a fit of jealousy, decided to part ways with the companions so close to the Eye, the young sovereign was sucked into the maelstrom. Due to his connection with Dyriel, the Insane Gate Lord and all his pantheon were also trapped in the Eye.

Because of the nature of all things existing all at once, Dyriel and his pantheon were broken down into their inner most base component - pure, ferocious energy. Danyael, due to his bond with Dyriel, became possessed by the wild energies while in the warp, further deepening his exile into the Warp. When Danyael mastered the Wellspring, so too did he master the vehement energies of Dyriel and the Gate Lords, acquiring and retaining all of their powers.

Now free of the warp, he can command the power of the Gate Lords themselves, albeit in a more condensed variant. He is able to summon the Gate Lords themselves to ‘borrow’ from their essence for a number of reasons, at the temporary sacrifice to his physical stability. While the power of the Gate Lords greatly increases all of his powers, if not adding to them, due to adverse effects from the warp, it takes a temporary toll on his physical well being, draining him. Because of the creation of his ‘echoes’ however, this has greatly decreased the use of the collective might of the Gate Lords, as all of his powers are spread out among his clones. Through Dyriel, Danyael can conjure a number of Greate Fiends, though only temporarily, to his command:

+Gyuulin ~ A monstrous creature hailing from the dark forests of Sacnoth. Taking the form of a multi-horned dragon, it is incredibly fierce, identifying all that moves as game and devouring its prey. Territorial, it is most likely to be found alone.

+ Ramius ~ An massive, enigmatic raven-black bird of prey, shrouded in the mysteries of the sky. Ever curious, Ramius has filled itself with a great deal of knowledge of the ways of the cosmos. However, this same curiosity has led to a rather brutal demeanor, causing the predator to tear those it encounters to shreds with its sharp beak and blade-sharp talons.

+ Anakim ~ a formless giant, whose fix fearsome arms are all that is visible, capable of pulverizing mountains. Lacking knowledge, but brimming with bestiality, it is said that even the most powerful of conjurers should take heed of the danger this beast presents. On each of its fingers is the metallic head of a blue eyed ram.

+Hechatonchires ~ A vile centipede hailing from the very collective of souls of the Gate Lords themselves. Rumors speak of its body exceeding any length imaginable by even an enlightened mind. Moving with speed unlike anything its size, its deftness allows it to wrap around and constrict its prey in the blink of an instant. It is Danyael’s most favored summon amidst the infernal.

These Greater Fiends, whose abundance of hosts borderlines on infinite, may only reside in the physical realm for a temporary amount of time. Due to the laws that separate the physical and ethereal realms, their bending the laws makes their time in the corporeal realm a limited one.

Agelessness
It would not be accurate to say that Danyael is immortal. He has, for the most part, simply stopped physically growing old. Through combination with his heritage in conjunction with his connection with the Wellspring, Danyael’s age has been ‘frozen’. He exists both in and out of relative time, regardless of the realm he resides in, due to the Source’s connection with the cosmic leylines. And as such, time cannot ‘touch’ him.

Geokinesis
Ever since birth, he had a hypersensitivity to any environments he came to. He could manipulate  the elements without hard focus or use of magic. This is because of what is in his blood; his genes. The cells in Danyael’s blood are a hybrid, as a result of his artificial bloodline. Each cell in his body fires off a subatomic, electromagnetic field that is so potent that it avails him the power to manipulate the very planets around him, thus the planets act as his sword and shield. He can use this power in many aspects due to the energy fields his cells emit to manipulate the core of each world. All planets are living organisms. And like all living organisms, the planets have souls of their own. And because of Danyael’s innate gift, he can be one in symbiosis with the planets themselves. By manipulating the elements of the universe, he can acquire abilities such as enhanced speed, healing arts and strength far exceeding the norm - even tapping into the cosmic leylines of the omniverse to call upon both reserves of energy and even the culling of inner and extradimensional hosts. This power, however, has a weakness, if properly extorted - because of his connection to the planets, if damage is done to the world he is on, so too will damage take their toll on him. And thus, since every world has one plight or another, he is always attuned to the sensations of the planet’s pain; thus he is always in pain whenever he is outside of the Imperium.

Biokinesis
Another of Danyael’s powers is his complete knowledge of his body, much in thanks to his training in the Guardian Order; all the more when initiated to sovereignty of the imperium. His knowledge extends from how his blood flows, to knowing every string of muscle like he knows the strings of a citar. And he plays them both with deadly precision, able to virtually avoid even the most lethal and precise of attacks. This has also opened up his extensive capacity for speed, making him able to move at paces fast enough to rival even some of the most powerful leaders of the Imperium. There are times where his speed is heightened to such a degree that he seems to vanish and reappear, rows of misty afterimages fading in his wake. Aside from his faultless mastery of his powers, was his terrifying proficiency as a warrior, with a standard speed of eight strikes per second, accelerating to speeds of, at least, thirty total strikes per second, allowing him to overwhelm lesser foes near instantly. In all essence, because of his knowledge of his body, he truly is a living weapon.

Auto-Reactionary Healing Factor
Another of his feats, and most precious, is his preternatural ability to heal from nearly any injury. His flesh almost always mends as quickly as it is cleaved. This has allotted him the luxury of a higher survival rate due to him being at the vanguard of most army lines. He has survived many attempts on his life, such as being impaled by multiple blades, or being pummeled by enemies larger than himself. At one point he even survived a clean sword slice that would have shred him in half. This ability, however, is finite. If he suffers too much damage too quickly, he can be worn down like any standard mortal and succumb to injuries proven fatal by normal combatants - if they can get close enough to touch him, that is. On a rare occasion, Danyael has only ever died once; killed by Soul Reaver during a battle on Cellaris V. However, due to the progeny of the perfect soul project, Danyael was able to find his way back to the living world, in combination with his ability of controlling planets, able to quickly gather the energy and substances necessary to swiftly rebuild himself from scratch, the experience adding to and enriching the essence of his spirit as per prior characteristics. The physical toll it took on him, however, was drastic. By means of strategy, his healing factor counteracts the consistent pain he is in when on dying worlds, keeping him in prime form.

Transcendental Authority
In a strange twist of events, due to both his bloodline and his connection to Dyriel, Danyael holds limited claim over divine, elemental and demonic hosts from across the imperium, though summoning any takes a strong toll on his physical health - reaching into the beyond from the living world is a difficult task for even the mightiest of mediums, regardless of their experience; himself being no exception. Due to his deeper bond with Dyriel, Danyael’s body acts as a gateway to the Gerasene Demon; better known as Legion, as well as the Kadamon; better known as the Gateway of Angels. Both abilities have afforded him a finite control over lesser and greater celestial and demonic hosts, considerable to his emotional state. The stronger the emotion, the mightier the summoning - but also the stronger the drain.

Pugilist
Danyael is no stranger to combat, and in his lengthy lifespan has studied a veritable range of fighting styles - from every variant of all Earth-born ways of fighting, to the more mystical war disciplines of the imperium itself. He has shown a relatively strong proficiency in mastering any weapon he comes into contact with. Whether this is instinctual or a sharpened ability is not known, though he has hinted in his metaphysical lineage being a key factor in memorizing and calibrating every possible aspect of any and all weaponry he has used, becoming an instant master in any craft of warplay. After having fought so many battles, much like the other companions, Danyael’s true strength is still unknown. It is stated officially that the Danyael seen during the Eye of Terror campaign has ascended to a new level of existence after spending so much time in the Warp - though in adding to his powers, so too has he added to his weaknesses. On a differing note, Danyael has, much like his companions, never used the full extent of his powers. Thus his true potential is vastly unknown; implying that he doesn’t exercise his full strength against most opponents.

Sense his time in exile, Danyael has become increasingly fond to the fighting styles of ‘old’ and ‘new’ Earth, feeling a ‘pull’ to be closer to the earliest place of his first birth from so long ago. He proceeded in training himself to master several particularly difficult styles of fighting, though swordsmanship appeared to be his preferred means of combat. As far as weapons mastery is concerned, he is increasingly efficiency in his own variants of Earth-born arts of war in relation to Battojutsu Iaido, Kenjutsu, Haiya-Te, Kage-ryu, Itto-ryu, Yagyu Shingan-ryu, Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto-ryu, Shinkage-ryu and Omori-ryu. In all of his disciplines, he has demonstrated a preternatural proficiency in channeling the flow of Qi (chi) in its most raw state (the invisible state), able to unleash quantifying levels of supernatural power in entire waves of attacks mixed with his supernatural speed.

In close quarters, he prefers the use of his own variants of the extensive forms of Kung Fu and Capoeira among others, showing dreaded precision in the styles of Zhuan Shu Kuan (modern composite style containing elements of Tae Kwon Do, Muay Thai and Changquan), Yingzhaoquan (Eagle Claw Fist), Wu Wei Gung Fu (“The spontaneous movement of the Gung Fu” - a modern composite style containing elements of Jeet Kune Do, Wing Chun and other adaptable martial arts), Tai Chi Chuan, Shaolin Nam Pai Chuan (Southern Shaolin Boxing), Sanshou (Free Fighting), Bak Sil Lum (Northern Shaolin), Dim Mak, Iron Palm, Iron Shirt (both Iron styles taught to him by an unknown warmaster), Gouquan (Dog Fist), Hung Gar (and all consecutive ‘fists’ encompassing it), Bāguàzhăng (Eight Trigram Palm), Zi Ran Men (“Fist of Nature”), Sanshou (“Free Fighting”), Liuhebafa (“Six Harmonies Eight Methods Fist), Kateda, Silat, Silat Pattani, Silat Cekak, Kuntao and Muay Boran . He also mastered the ancient variants of Kalarippayatt, adding to it, like all the others, a stylish twist of grace, speed and raw superhuman power.

Elemental
Much attuned to the universe after his time in the warp, alongside the facets of geokinesis, Danyael is no stranger to the might of the elements. And through his century of extensive training, he has learned the means to control the elements themselves. By use of his sight is he able to see the true forms of air, earth, water, fire and aether. And because he can see them, he can use them accordingly, able to wield each element with pinpoint accuracy, sometimes combining his attunement to the spirit world in conjunction with the elements, able to summon elemental hosts to aid or accompany him.

Nocturne Kenshi
During the Eye of Terror Campaign, Danyael exhibits his control over Dyriel’s power by summoning shadow warriors known as the Nocturne Kenshi. They never speak and never act on their own, following Danyael’s commands to perfection. Though seen as composed of darkness, they are in fact composed of highly compressed dark matter. Due to the ferocity of the nature of dark matter, they are capable of incredible violence when ordered into battle, moving at ethereal speeds wielding otherworldly skills so rife with aggression it could borderline on insane. Their speed is such that they do not seem to move - rather, they seem to simply ‘appear’. Due to the complex nature of dark matter, they can only spend a limited time in the living world before their essences dissipate back into the ether. Danyael refuses to keep them around for extended periods of time, as any further attempts to keep them in the material plane could drain his life force and kill him. Additionally, this could potentially kill all of his echoes.

"Boy to Man"

It’s hard to see the truth for what it is when the truth itself is a medley of ever-changing faces, making some veiled attempt at making complicated situations seem as normal as possible. Besides, the truth is overrated. Normal is overrated. I never much liked either. My name’s Danyael Ilixandros, High Sovereign of the Imperium Sanctus, which spans over 40% of the observable omniverse. ‘Omniverse’, you ask? Well, let’s get one fact straight, they’ve told you there’s a single Multiverse. They’re half right. There’s a multiverse, sure. There just happens to be a lot more than one. More than any of us can count, each following its own collective of laws that hold them in harmony with one another. This flow of all-encompassing existence is known as the omniverse, which is far older and larger than any of us, even the oldest, could ever measure.

Before I get this little log out of the way, perhaps we should clear up some facets over my name. ‘Danyael’ could be pronounced much like the earth-born name ‘Daniel’ or if you’re feeling feminine ‘Danielle’, but please keep the minds out of the gutter on that one. So many have mispronounced my surname, I simply went by my first name instead. But while we’re at it, I may as well clear this up. The ‘X’ in the name is pronounced as ‘S’. In function, Ilixandros is pronounced Ilisandros. Clear? Excellent!

I come from “Sanctuary” better known as the “Imperium Sanctus”. For lack of a better word, it’s an ‘empire’ comprised of a long number of multiverses (What, you thought there was only one?) From across the Omniverse. Even I don’t know how many multiverses we rule, but I’d wager the number’s quite a bit longer than some of the oldest immortals I know. I say ‘quite a bit’ as a courtesy, of course.

Our cities stretch beyond any horizon I’ve traveled, many of which filling entire realms themselves. I suppose one could refer to them as ecumenopolises (cities made of the whole world). The megalopolises of planets, galaxies, galactic clusters and even galactic superclusters all fused into continuous cosmic spanning cities.

I suppose one couldn’t comprehend the enormity of the imperium, seeing as how none of the good folk I’ve traveled with have ever been there. But it’s bigger, broader and more vast than anything they’ve seen, of that I can assure them - every multiverse in the imperium converted into oceans of skyscrapers so lofty that each level has its own sky. The islands, the mountains, the deserts... even the forests are cities in themselves. The grandest example of techno/mystical urban sprawl.

Everything before the day of shadows plays like photography to me. I can relive any and every memory in my mind, save for a paltry few. I remember there being bright light and even brighter light. It moved in waves, rippling in more directions than I could count. I remember feeling the constant boom and throb of entering existence - and then I remembered the scratching and buzzing. At first I didn’t know what to make of it until the scratches became vibrating noises. And the noises became voices. The voices spoke to me, some softly and some firm - but all were considerate of the thing that was apparently me.

I remember seeing bubbles rise endlessly around me, and the feeling of being in some sort of viscous blue fluid. But I could breathe. Chords protruded up and down my spine while others were plugged into my limbs, symblant to that of a marionette. I felt them sluggishly pumping fluids into me, each throb bringing more ecstasy and pain than the next. I remembered seeing faces; ghostly white faces. Some smiled. Some frowned. But all of them were saying a name I could only interpret as mine. “Danyael.” It felt familiar to me. It felt right. “Come Danyael. Open your eyes.” some voices would say. “Come Danyael. Try to move.” others would say.

I would eventually come to know these men and women as members of the “Ghost Councils” of the imperium. I guess you could call them alchemists, in some extent of the honorific. At first I thought the they were a group of mad scientists, toiling away in their lost cathedrals. But after living for so long, I finally understand that what they were doing, however obscure it seemed to unknowing eyes, was the noblest I’d ever known. To create the foundations to a true unity among spirits. And though I was just a ‘prototype’, they made me feel important. I felt loved. I felt purposeful. Of course when they came to realize that I was the only one of my kind, the expectations grew a bit higher for me.

The gist of their project was to create a being (me) who could not only live for thousands of years, but could also remember every lifetime lived with photogenic memory. Every lifetime I’ve had, I can remember with perfect recall. I was still me, but in a different time, living in a different form. My soul would leapfrog from lifetime to lifetime, living incredibly long years only to reincarnate with the memories of every life I’d lived before. Sometimes it had its cons, but mostly it served to enrich me, to broaden my understandings of the concept of resurrection and reincarnation. They called me an ‘Unchanging Soul.’ referring to some grand plan of theirs they referred to as the ‘Perfect Soul Project’.

But I’m getting to ahead of myself. I remember the day of change, the day I changed from Kanshisha to Danyael. It wasn’t what I’d call a good day. But it wasn’t bad either. Everything changed the day Dyriel finally decided to take the fight to Everworld. To take the fight to me.

The battle was hard fought. I lost. But in losing did I also win. For in the depths of shame did I regain what was once hidden; my truest self. Then the change occurred. And everything I knew as truth expanded into a world of revelations I’d never thought possible. No longer was I the naive little boy who’s stalwart views of injustice in the universe guided my actions. I’d grown into the man I was designed to be, wielding the very power of the universe at my every command. But something went amiss that my makers may not have counted on. I still retained the mind of a boy. The sudden change in form and strength did not come complete with a sudden awareness of wisdom, rather it mutated into a state of mind to that of a spoiled child. I still feel shame at remembering all that I put my friends through. I’d gone through an incomplete change and I didn’t even know it. How could I have?

And that’s when everything turned upside down. That’s when all I knew as right and good and true - all of the nobility that tasted so good to me... it all turned to ash in my mouth. I didn’t know my friends from my enemies. Hell, I didn’t even know one enemy from another. All I saw was red, everywhere I went. All I saw was another reason to scoff and a dumber reason to look down on someone. It was pathetic. Primative. Weak. I knew I was a lot of things. But all of that? No, none of that should have been me. Never should have been me.

The aftereffects from my change were confusing at best. I was introduce (rather, re-introduced) to the imperium I was to rule, completely changing my views on the mechanics of the multiverse. It was a lot to take in, now knowing that rather than there being a multiverse, there was an omniverse. Who knew there could be so many in existence. It kind of makes you feel a whole lot smaller. When I’d seen the great cities again, I don’t think I was mature enough to fully grasp the enormity of the events at hand. But it also served to provide a sense of outsider status from within. I no longer felt like I was truly a part of the multiverse I was apprenticed to protect any longer. Every universe within this multiverse felt all the more foreign to me, like I didn’t belong in any way. It’s never pleasant when you feel like you have to try to fit in. Which was probably why I was so unpleasant to be around after my crowning as the sovereign of the imperium. I no longer felt like I was kin amidst the group of heroes I’d fought beside. That does things to a mind, particularly a young mind. And I, I must admit, was very young.

When next came the reunion of the companions, I was a changed man. I would take things too personally. I would get irate with people for the smallest, most insignificant things. It’s all rather humiliating when I look back on it now.  But moving on, We were to meet up with the man I knew as Clutchfiend, Lord Aileron, to begin a campaign to enter and fight within a place known as the Eye of Terror, a massive warp rift where the Warp enters realspace.

Confrontation came early when an agent of our enemy, Dark Eldar Lord Arha, who was awkwardly an acquaintance of one of my own friends, began taunting the companions to see how well they could control their emotions before we ventured into the Eye. We all failed the test. But no result was worse than when Arha went too far and Soul Reaver lost complete control of himself; or so that’s the way it looked. His sword, Blooddrinker, took the opportunity to take complete possession of Soul. The fight was brutal and I, along with Jharm and Gale, were forced to intervene; keep him as far away from the others until he could be freed from the creature’s influence. I’d never seen my friend, who was the epitome of civility, make such a switch to savagery.

And then his rage crossed the line. He killed Gale right in front of me. The boy hadn’t even grown into his prime and his coil was cut short by this... well, I won’t further the pain of the memory. In spite of the hurt, I kept my hold on Soul until Jharm could free him of Blooddrinker’s influence. But by the time the deed was done, what respect I had for Soul had burned away in place of a fire I wouldn’t allow to be extinquished. He tried to offer his apologies, but what could that do now? It still wasn’t too late for Gale, giving me enough time to bring his soul back for what limited time there was. The process drained me of my strength and of my tolerance even more - which resulted in furthering the gap between myself and my companions. I’d continue to hold the grudge against Soul for days to come.

And then I met this woman. One of Aileron’s people. Mary. Warp Elemental, fiery red hair and a luscious piece of ass if I ever knew one - put Sera in line for a draw, to be honest. Maybe that’s just lustful thinking. Considering how tight I got, I could only assume it was, but it’s not like I’m about to start bitching over it. She had a venomous tongue, too. Could spit cuss words faster than Kelvack could– ...ah never mind. But she provided much needed company during a time where stress and responsibility found common ground to run rampant through my thoughts.

We grew closer, much to the disapproval of Aileron and the other Elementals. It was actually because of her that I didn’t sound off on them as well. I suppose it was her attunement to the element of the Warp that drew her closer to me, as my power was a somewhat similar, albeit distorted, variant. She gave me the chance I was so unknowingly asking for. The chance to be understood. The chance to be trusted. No one else would, save for her. And I guess that’s what made me fall for her all the more.

A battle broke out not far after, this time against a force of some form of creatures that Aileron referred to as Tyranids. The battle was hard fought, but not difficult to sway. But alas, old grudges go deep. Soul Reaver was close to being overrun by the horde and I, in some way of trying to meld the gap I’d forced between us, leapt into the fray to fight with him back to back. But Soul, in another possession by Blooddrinker, let his power run wild on the battlefield, catching me not only completely by surprise, but also in the harshest portion of the shockwave. To say the least, the blast killed me. Vaporized me almost completely. The man I hated, yet tried to help, only served to keep to blood grudge between us as stern and true as ever before - even if it wasn’t his choice to make it happen. Then again, even in death am I difficult to keep in the afterlife. And through my connection with the planet and its soul was I able to pull myself back into the land of the living, reforming bits and pieces back to their original form. That was just the start of a great many emotional loops that was my time with the companions during the campaign.

The closer we got to the Eye, the more erratic my behavior got. It wasn’t a clean ride for any of us - I was too prone to fits of rage with the smallest, most insignificant of events. I knew no one trusted me anymore. But I’d already committed to the cause. What more could I do? The only ones who truly showed me any patience was Mary Ardent and Yue Kurine. But when we’d finally gotten close enough to the Eye, I finally determined that I’d had enough. Enough of getting angry at everything. Enough of my ‘companions’ mistrust of me. Enough of being judged. Enough of this continuous war with the wilds of the darkness. And so I felt it was time to take my leave.

I gussied it all up to make it look like I was needed elsewhere. But I think we all knew the truth. I was jealous. I was so disgustingly jealous of everyone around me. The people I knew and the people I didn’t. Everyone, to me, outshone me in so many ways. I felt so useless as I was. And I didn’t know any way of making myself look brighter to them. Or maybe I couldn’t accept that I was still so very young; so very inexperienced. But I think we both know it was more the second than the first.

Mary tried to get me to stay. But I’d hear none of it. I opened a transgate to Sanctuary and made my departure before she could say another word. I watched her watch me go. I never gave her a chance to say goodbye. I never gave myself a chance to say goodbye. So stupid that was. All decency aside, she was such a damn good looker. I would miss the impure thoughts.

I didn’t count the days or weeks or months. I counted millenniums go by in a place with no doors. Only reflections of me were present. The only company I could keep in a place rife in construed storms that tugged at my very soul with each gale force it sent my way.

And for the first time in so long, I saw something I didn’t expect. Me. Or perhaps another reflection of me. It approached in the distance, just as I approached. Walking step by step identical to my own. What baffled me was that nothing else was reflected in the void, all save for the figure before my eyes. I looked curiously at it as it looked curiously at me. I spoke a word “hello” just as it spoke the same word at exactly the same time. I saw me, but upon looking closer I also saw me look bac. From both sides of the spectrum did I think I was looking at a reflection. And after a time I hadn’t measured, I finally realized that I was looking at myself from both sides. I touched my reflection and felt the sensation of physical feeling from both ends. I took a breath and felt the breath in my lungs from both ends. I stepped back and my reflection, which from the other end was me, stepped back as well. I laughed and felt the hoarse baritone of my voice echo from opposing ends, the cacophony of chortling a soft chorus to my ears (hearing it, again, from both sides). It wasn’t long before I thought of my reflection and then saw another. And another. And another. And soon there were ten of me sharing company. Thus began my quest of mastering my sense of duality; replication. Each reflection a perfect compliment to me, because it was me. Each reflection an ‘echo’ from the voice of my soul. Thus did I surmise that my time in the warp had enhanced me far beyond what I’d theorized. Soon, there were hundreds of me, journeying side by side to traverse the warp together. But the more echoes I made of myself, the weaker I’d get - though not in the same sense as feeling pain. While a morsel of my strength left me, I still felt connected to it as it flowed into my echoes around me. So it could be explained that my strength was ‘shared’ among us.

Soon enough, if you look into the light too long, then that will be all you see. And such happened to me just as suddenly. At first I didn’t know how to deal with it. I missed seeing what I could touch. I missed perceiving my skin or what physical ground I could walk on. Physically, for all ways I can explain, I was blind. But that longing was displaced after I found that in place of my physical sight, I could perceive something else entirely. The warp didn’t blind my eyes; it transformed them. I could now see the very threads of the warp itself, and thus could I also perceive the very threads of reality that make the universes appear as they are. Truly could I ‘see clearly’ now more than ever before. And so my longing wailed no more.

It was a dream come true to see Yue again. To be honest, aside from Sera and Mary, she was on my mind the most. She was the first to welcome me into the order during my apprenticeship. She was the only one who was ever kind to me during my times as an initiate and even more so when I discovered who I really was. I guess, in some ways, she was the one I could connect with the most. If you’re feeling romantic, she was probably the one I truly loved. But how can you express your feelings when the apple of your eye is promised to someone else? Unless I was sorely mistaken, I could have sworn she and Kawanua were an item. And as little respect as I had for the old man, I couldn’t dishonor the woman who loved him. But those feelings of guilt and loss were as if they never were when I’d seen her again. To be truthful, she was the first image in my mind when I’d finally found my way out.

I doubt she approves of the way the order’s being run any more than I do. I’d even wager we were both a bit more than fed up with the all around lack of enthusiasm, especially considering how vast this multiverse was. The more realms that become universally aware of the multiverse, or even the omniverse, the more people there are that need defending. You’d think that would be enough of a wake up call, right? But where was the old man during all of this? Pappy done gone and got himself lost, I say!

What to do, right? What else; I took a group of like-minded guardians with me and left the Order. They even formed a militia under me - fancying themselves as the ‘Ilixanchist’; totally not my idea, but it stuck well, and I liked the way it rolled off the tongue. But perhaps we should take it from the top, as to how this little movement of mine began:

During the early skirmishes between in the wars after my return, I - by this time somehow establishing myself as a charismatic crusader - moved throughout the Order, arguing my case for a broader intervention of guardians. It was hard being a lone voice among the council, even if it was the voice of one of the fifty great leaders of the Imperium Sanctus. However, there were some within the Order that had the wherewithal to hear my words - and the broadness of scope to think outside the box. After that I gained something of a following. The first among them was a young squire; reminded me of me if you’ll accept the cliche. She never gave me her name, but she sure could work a crowd. Almost as good as me! She was the true backer behind recruiting for our cause. Even if I gave her her own world, it wouldn’t be enough to thank her for all she’d done.

Late in the wars I was considered the honorary “Master” of those who followed me. Now that was not my choice, no matter how much those who know me would say otherwise. A lot of people didn’t take too kindly to my taking guardians with me, especially since they were some of the order’s strongest. But at the time I didn’t really care what they thought. More people said that the Kawanua wouldn’t approve. I didn’t really care what he thought either. He wasn’t around. And being elsewhere is no excuse for shirking on your duties. So fuck what he does and doesn’t want! And I made sure they knew that, too.

Now don’t be an asshole, I’ll admit I was being a prick. I won’t deny that I didn’t approve of the way things were being run, what with the old man being so fucking conservative. So conservative, in fact that he didn’t even run his own society. How the hell does that make any sense? It wasn’t my fault that the others who followed me wanted better. Certainly wasn’t my fault that the times demanded swifter action than what was already being done. What’s that old saw about ‘He who hesitates’? You get the drift, I’m sure.  So I and mine left the order, forming a group similar to our roots, renaming us the Guardian Orden. We knew of the greater threats to the omniverse, as well as the greater number of peoples in the multiverses who were becoming increasingly more aware of the existence of other universes. Even whole realms were gaining ground in understanding. They deserved protection just as much as the next.

So here I stand, not only leading a new revamp of the old order, but also personally representing the Imperium in one of the few multiverses not under Imperial rule. But the outsider status still hasn’t faded. As well it shouldn’t. I need to be reminded that more than my own country is at risk. Now more than ever, I need to help protect the people who don’t know the true danger.

Whenever I leave the sanctity of my realms, I know there’s great risk involved. Due to my powers of instant immersion with the worlds I walk on, I feel both the bliss and the pain of those worlds entirely. It’s a rather confusing feeling to experience ecstasy one moment and anguish the next. Though I do admit that there are most times where I’ll experience an orgasm every five minutes or so. Life throws its little perks sometimes, right?

We built a new haven for the Orden in this multiverse on the planet of Caim Solais, crowning one of the seaside mountains with a massive city of silver and gold, giving it the same moniker as the planet it resided on. From anywhere beneath the city can it be seen, on account of its height and spiraling platinum white towers.

At the center of the city stands the Daylight Tower, where the Orden holds its inner most conferences of state, as well where additional figures visiting from the Imperium may call home. It is, by design, a city in itself, though pales in comparison to the industrial sprawl that surrounds it.

In retrospect, I know that if I were to die, then there is a stark possibility that all of my echoes will also perish. But it’s a risk I’m willing to take. This isn’t a duty I can’t leave up to a part of me, but me completely. Though the guardians will always dispute my consistence in running to the vanguard of cosmic conflicts, I know there’s no other logical way I can do this. I have to be at the forefront. I have to be the sword and shield. I have to stand by the same who risk their very souls to keep the evils of the universes away. But I also acknowledge that there are times when I’m scared. Times where I’m frightened of dying. Who wouldn’t be? I will always seek safety - just as much as the next logical mind.
Be it on Caim Solais, Chrysalis or within the stretch of the Imperium itself... only there do I truly feel safe. Only in those places do I feel bliss. Only in those places do I feel no pain. Because everything is cared for. Everything is tended to. Everything is kept in harmony, in order, with one another.

At first, I had such a concept of the universe; darkness cannot be completely destroyed - it always exists to counterbalance light, until the two merge into one, transcending the bounds of duality. I’m glad I was so wrong to think such narrow-minded drivel. The truth is that there is still so much about the universe that we have yet to truly grasp. There is still so much about the realms that transcend the physical that none of us have every really understood. And that’s fine. If we knew everything, then what good would there be in the adventure that is life?

And here I am again, waiting for yet another storm to raise its thunder, only for it to be blown out of sight by the stronger winds that resist it. One of these days, I know, the warring will stop. But I can’t imagine when that will be. Maybe in my lifetime and then again maybe not. But one day, I know I won’t have to fight any more. But for now... I should probably enjoy it while it’s here. Until something better comes my way.
