The Three-Edged Sword - Champion Poll
« on: August 04, 2026, 05:43:49 AM »
The Three Edged Sword has come to an end, and it's time to vote for a Champion.
The Champion isn't the 'best' or 'most powerful' character - rather, they're someone who you think deserves the title because what they brought to the story was great, interesting or otherwise awesome.

-One vote per person.
-You cannot vote for yourself.
-You have to have participated in half of the Epic Board Battle to be eligible
-Only currently active members are eligible
-The Battle Host reserves the right to vote last. Therefore, in case of a tie, Veldanya would have the tiebreaker.  If the Battle Host does not vote for a tiebreaker, The Administrator will do so instead.

The following people are not eligible for this award, even though they participated in the whole thread:

Veldanya Venalla (Battle Host)

To cast your vote, post a reply stating who you want to vote for and why you think they deserve this award and vote for them in the poll above.

Let the voting commence!

I'm going to vote for Fallen Templare / Phaerys.
I feel he's picked an interesting non-human character to play, and I like seeing the way his mind processes and approaches the situations he's faced with.  His powerset is also unusual and original, which is a big plus, and I think he's adapted well as a new player to the Board Battles.  I'm keen to see more of him!

I voted for Gulgrim.

His consistent Orkiness has been fun to experience.  And he always toes the line between being out of hand and reigned in enough to keep story beats progressing.

I do want to note an honorable mention for Phaerys.  The concept for the character is wonderfully odd, wonderfully executed, and fits in very well with the rest of us misfits!

I also voted for Phaerys. It's always fun seeing a new character experience the party and find how they slot in, and the cold analysis always felt like a fun counterpoint to Gulgrim's wild haymaker of a personality.

My vote was on Gulgrim as well. Shadow Chorus managed to strike a fine balance of writing an impulsive meathead who was tempered by some propa brutal kunnin'. A true master of Da Art of WAAAGH!

I kinda feel like Phaerys and Gulgrim may have at least a little bit in common, surprisingly - namely that both are driven by a highly singular purpose. Phaerys pursues knowledge, Gulgrim's after a good scrap. Could be fun to explore that sometime, methinks.
