Gonyn(ROUGH DRAFT - EPIC BB) - In-progress.

Gonyn the Fire Wyrn.

To best describe Gonyn you must first understand what a Wyrn is. To best describe a Wyrn you must understand where Wyrns come from.

Millenia prior to the current astral time Wyrns roamed the deep jungles of Byn, a deathworld planet in the outer rim of the Ellipsus Galaxy. A Galaxy where the dimensional planes have become distored and great Warp Storms intersperse a majority of the colonized planetoids located through out. Planets ruled by Wyrns who have enslaved all intelligent species as they have learned to overcome the Warp and overcome the vast expanses of space and time. Though their are millions of planets in the Ellipsus galaxy none rival in importantance and pride than Byn the deathworld and birhplace of the race of Wyrns.

The planet Byn is aptly named a deathworld as the creatures and flora of the planet continually and quickly evolve. Everywhere on the planet creatures vary in size and shape, but all are lethal and all continually pass phases of metamorphisis and adapt into even greater evolutionary heights in only a short millinia. Every milisecond spent on Byn is a continual battle for your life. The planet is much warmer than most humanoid creatures could tolerate as its proximity to Byn's sun, Dydra,  is about 5 million miles closer than the Earth standard Astroninomical Unit.  Much of the planet  is canopied in lush humid jungles filled with wildlife.  The planet also has many volcanic ash and wastelands where little to nothing survives the scorching heat and toxic gas.   The polar regions are harshly and bitterly cold and nothing can survive the tremendous cold.

To call Byn a Deathworld is more of a paradox as the planet bristles with life, but the lifeforms of the planet have not evolved a symbiotic acceptance of each other.  Instead creatures evolve strickly to kill and control.  Insects devolope poisons, razor sharp teeth, pincers, carapace exo-skeletal structures that rival any human made contruction at the larva stage and grow into much more menacing creatures quickly.  The Deathworld name is given purely on the fact that it in essence a warzone of evolution.

A cursory glance by an unsuspecting traveller would easily assume that the planet was nothing more than a jungle paradise, until the shifting sands beneath their feet sucked them under to be consumed by ever shifting roots of a Death willow. A species of Jungle tree that grows leaves and fruit to attract prey to its deadly entangling roots that pull you under the soft sand so that the bile in its bark can desolve your suffocated corpse beneath the soil, Or perhaps an ussuspecting explorer may happen upon a small mound of razor bugs who when alerted to the presences of exposed flesh will set off pheramones and a trillion moving razor bugs scurry from unseen secondary mounds like a living wave to consume every morsel of flesh and bone and return to their mounds before your eyes can blink. More likely you would encounter the malicous poisonous spine thrower flower that spit needles of a vile toxin that will bring creatures hundreds of times larger to an agonizing death just for trespassing where the plants sun themselves. A plethora of other more sinister creatures arrive and disperse with the seasons which go from hot and wet, to really hot and wet, and back to hot and wet again. There is no winter on Byn except in the polar regions where little to nothing survives in an even harsher environment of freezing bleak cold.

To a newly arrived traveller to Byn seeing this deadly flora and fauna quickly maim, poison, or eat his companions is only the tip of the needle to how hostile the planet is. The lifeforms on planet Byn are not cute and cuddly. They do not negotiate. They do not quit. They have do one of three things scavenge, feed, or die. The planets orginal and best adapted inhabitants were low intelligent hunter creatures including: the huge herding Donastrydon a massive quadripedal creature with a bone shield skull for ramming and a poison secreting tail covered in quivers as large as a human, that can nimbly swoop and slay. The Mydraptor a pack carnivore about the size of a human with razor sharp teeth and long arms tipped with a long blade-like talon each. The mydraptors rely on speed and tactical manuavering in predatory packs to corner or wound a much larger creature by rending flesh and sever limbs in great flashes; slowly withering away any chance of escape until their prey can be dismantled in a ravenous lust. Few can match the speed of Mydraptors whose hunched feet propel them with lightning fast ferocity through the jungle floor and gives them a much stronger jump than other clumsier beasts allowing them to leap through the air onto unsuspecting prey.  Few mammals exist on Byn one such creature is the Onsloyth a jungle tree dwelling creature that burrow into the thick upper canopy and rely on stealth and cammoflage. They have camelione like furs that allow them to disolve into the lush canopy to strike out quickly to kill unspecting predators with their clubs(Onsloyth's were one of the first but not the only creatures to quickly develope tools and weapons).

One of the most prolific and destructive creatures to inhabit Byn is the great fire breathing Drakyn a winged lizard.  These fire breathing lizards soar through the skys above the upper canopy seeking out birds and tree dwelling creatures of which they scorch in great sheets of blue flame. The pyrogenetic biofuel ejects and ignites when it contacts air from great nodes located in the jaws of these flying reptilians. Cold blooded creatures which dwell in the great stony mountains that peak up where the crust of the planet smashes together atop the angry tectonic plates forming spine-like juttments of sharp volcanic rock.

For millenia the Drakyn have ruled the lands with little necessity to adapt with plentiful food supplies and free reign of the air they continued to fly with fat bellies of charred prey for eons. They had reached an evolutionary peak of ferociousness that no creature could compare to on Byn. Inevitably on a planet as harsh as Byn even these predatory kings will undoubtly lose their crowns.

For millenia few creatures could challenge these large Drakyn and survive, but progressively out of the jungle a new species arrose, the Wyrn. The Wyrn began as what could only be described as a freakish creature of great sinewy muscle and carapace.  The Wyrn developed as a bivertibrate, with two spinal columns to allow it to control and function its two pairs of arms.  A lower and upper set of fully functioning arms

Gonyn.

Out of the great

Updates to come tonight.  Will try to work on this as much as possible, although currently no known start for Epic BB.   It will be two parts the description of a Wyrn then Gonyn himself and his characteristics.
