I'm about to draw some very heavy inspiration from two different universes when I explain how Chi and divine power work in the next post. Woo, here we go, philosophy.

Major props to whoever can guess the two universes I used to create the concept of the Aether.

The energy sounds like the spirit of the planet (or whatever it was) from Final Fantasy: the spirit within, the rest sounds a bit like 7 ghost’s “ziphon”, an ability  which is a gift from god and everyone’s capabilities are different and in most cases reflect their personality.

You're close, but not quite. You're on the right track with the energy of the planet and the personality-based abilities though.

Hope the armor part of the post wasn't too bold of an assumption.

Also, look at the time I posted... 4's marks the end of the world!  I just made that up, but I believe in it now.

The only other thing that comes to mind is the actual aether form the Aion universe. It is considered the essence of life, but it seemed too obvious to be it, so I thought the name to be a coincidence.

Yeah, that is just coincidence. I'll let Kith try and guess before I reveal what it really is.

I was going to guess Final Fantasy 7's Mako energy and Star Wars, but the personality based abilities threw me off.

One of those is correct.

I did indeed use Star Wars's Force Energy as part of it. The omnipresent force that travels through all life and impacts everything it touches was part of the inspiration.

The other part was The Holy Light, of Warcraft Lore.

Quote
The followers of the Holy Light do not worship any gods. Instead, it is a philosophy, training its followers to seek perfection within themselves. It is very much an active practice of virtue rather than a passive worship. Those who follow it closely gain spiritual awareness and guidance, allowing them to lead others.

The Holy Light teaches that there is a connection between the self and the universe. This connection manifests as what we feel through both senses and emotions. When a person is moved, through seeing something breathtaking or feeling love for another, that emotion connects him to the universe. Experiencing the emotion ensures that he exists, as something within him felt the emotions or processed the sensual awareness. Because he exists, so must the universe that gave him that feeling. From there, he can act upon the universe, causing more changes to create feeling in others. Thus, the followers of Holy Light seek to make the world a better place by being true to their own emotions.

The next step in recognizing this connection between the self and the universe is developing the goodness within and without. If one wishes for happiness, one must work to better the universe to make others happy. Experiencing the glory and beauty of the world will in turn tap into the inner beauty and glory within one's soul. However, giving in to greed, despair, and unhappiness will only darken the universe. The Holy Light is the glory of the universe reflected upon the soul and mirrored back onto itself.

Taken directly from Wowpedia's entry on the holy light.

I took that concept of self connected to all of reality, and the ability to affect that reality through the self, and combined it with the omnipresent force as the creation of all life, and from there, with my own personal twists, I created the Aether.

I knew Star Wars was part of it!  The Dragon's explanation morphed into Obi Wan halfway through in my mind, haha.

I'm not familiar enough with Warcraft lore, sad to say :(

Well done.

I have to admit.  It took me a while to determine what was troubling Wu.  He's hard to figure out sometimes :P

When this weapon is finished I might need an extremely detailed description or maybe even a little doodle in OOC so I make sure I don't misinterpret what I'm swinging around by the way. XD  Seems crazy enough to require some additional explanation.  I think I have the right image in my head, but not sure.

When I was thinking of what weapon would be right for the gorger, I immediately thought of This guy, but then I thought 'what if I attached an axe and a morningstar to it via animated chains? Yeah, that's friggen awesome!' And so it was that Siege Breaker was born.

I imagine him The Gorger, with somewhat big chained scythes or glaives. He is big, he is fast and he is strong. For me the next logical step is to be able to cleave you in two from 10 meters away. Light and durable, letting him have all the speed he had before, but with twice more the cutting power!

I feel like I've made a good character if people are picturing so many possibilities for him that are all of a fitting theme or style. :)

I like this little "self-improvement" chapter.  I'm excited to see what Rau and Sun Wu come up with!  I'm looking forward to the post where The Gorger finds out about the others' newly found abilities.
