As The Gorger's body slammed into the far wall, shaking brick and stone from its foundations, the ghoul did not lament his situation... but focused only on the task before him, gazing at his opponent intently. As he wrenched himself from the crumbling fissure in the wall, he took a brief moment to pop and stretch his limbs as the abomination approached him, steadily... studying The Gorger's movements. "Well, well... I think I like you." The Gorger's voice droned, almost entirely void of emotion as he shouldered the Siege Breaker.
The Gorger sensed the beast was strong, but he had not expected such a coordinated defense. This mass of muscle was far more worthy a foe than he had originally anticipated. The construct of flesh and bone was far stronger than the ghoul, his reflexes were swift, and his mind was sharp. Reflecting briefly on its reactionary response, the being before him must have been constructed from men with not only formal training, but some level of experience to execute that training well.
Tilting his head backward, he closed his eyes, and attempted to wrest control of his broken mind... as he delved into his thoughts, time seemed to slow. He could sense his foe's movements as he did the werewolf in the woods. Its limbs were heavy, and easy to read. Its breathe... relatively steady.
Beyond the stomach wrenching smell of burnt flesh, was the smell of the bare innards of another abomination... it was invigorating. Beyond that, he could faintly sense the rest of the party. It seemed they would likely manage, for the moment.
The third abomination was obscured, but now was not the time to concern himself with it. He had to focus...
"Breathe, and steel yourself... this foe is no fool, and no beast." his thoughts were sabotaged by his own hunger; visions of tearing flesh from bones.
The encroaching thumps of his foe drew closer, and his stench grew more powerful.
"I can indulge soon... but now is not the time." Instinct kicked in once more. Visions of the many he had slaughtered raged in his mind. Pools of blood... fire... the cries of the widowed... "Ignore the visions... and calm yourself. Regardless of what you have done, we've business to attend to." Slowly, the visions became less hostile as the ghoul centered himself, and soon was only able to sense only the present moment. He licked the blade of the Siege Breaker, covering it in his vile rot.
Having momentarily regained his mind, he analyzed the situation, "He likely thinks he has a feel for me. My speed, my strength..." The Gorger's teeth escaped his mouth in a wide grin. "...It will be his downfall."
The Gorger calmly opened his eyes; his foe was upon him.
"Now, dwarf... let's see what your craftsmanship is truly made of."
(INSATIABLE WRATH)
With a roar that dispersed the grime and sewage from beneath him and shook dust from the cavernous sewers, The Gorger's massive body blurred - the ground beneath him shattering with the fierce movement. He tucked himself low to the ground - a common strategy against larger foes. The abomination's reach would be slightly delayed as well, as his shoulders were abnormally wide. In his off-hand, the ghoul held the cylinder of the Siege Breaker with the flail drawn. With enough force to shatter the stone gates of Khadmas's training grounds, The Gorger thrust it forward into the abomination's gut, The Gorger's muscles contorting and shifting in his legs as he lifted upward. Should it land successfully, the force would be enough to make the abomination lower its head, if even for a moment... it was then that The Gorger would make it known what remained in his main-hand. A noose, made from chains that once held the very ghoul who wielded them, and enchanted by a smith the likes of which the new world had never seen... and a blade slathered in The Gorger's rotten saliva. He would ignore any and all incoming attacks, for his priority was not to get out in one piece. Whatever the cost, the noose must be placed.
"Don't let me down, Khadmas..."
