The comic isn't quite the same vein of fantasy as what we're aiming for here.  But it is a delight nonetheless.  I draw inspiration in weird ways also (don't we all :P ), and your description made the connection for me for some reason.

Gorillas would fit fine in the overall narrative.  The first storyline will be based in the "castle in the countryside" setting.  But if we continue from there it could go all over the place.

Think I'll stick with bear anyway.  Just feels... correct. XD

Oh, by the way, if you guys wanna' be OP... look up Mantis Shrimp.  They need to be nerfed. http://theoatmeal.com/comics/mantis_shrimp

Mantis Shrimp is the new boss battle for the storyline.  A glorious, flamboyant, and ridiculously OP boss.

And not a Caller.  Just a 12 inch Mantis Shrimp that's slightly pissed off.

Ok, so after that initial burst of writing I got distracted for a while.

I'm working on fleshing out the initial NPCs and plot.

I'm also think of reworking the character creation a little to allow Soul points to be place wherever you want.  So if you just want an Element soul and don't want to incorporate a Animal you can choose to do so.  And vice versa.  Overall power of your character will be determined by the sum of your three Souls (in a large part just to keep me sane).  So if all you want to do is stand back and cast lightning bolt you can do so.

So would you be equally powerful if you put those points into physical ability?  Like a veritable Brock Sampson?

I'm not going to, but just curious.

Ah!  Good question.  I'm still keeping the cap on Human Soul points.  So that would be a no.  You will be a damn impressive fighter with capped Human Soul points, but we aren't just dealing with other humans.

I want to let people create their character how they like, and I believe that less restrictions are a good thing.

Let me know (either in this thread or via PM) when you're ready to start Character Creation, and I'll get that board opened for you.
